Kelly Copes-Anderson is currently Vice President and Global Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) for Lilly.  In this role, Kelly is responsible for advancing and embedding DEI as a strategic approach across the enterprise to maximize business performance and create a competitive advantage for the company. Under Kelly’s leadership, Lilly has ranked #5 in Fair 360 Top 50 companies for diversity.

Kelly has worked at Lilly for 25 years, primarily in the commercial business function, and has held a variety of positions in marketing, market research and manufacturing across the company including recent roles as Global Brand Leader in Breast Cancer, and Sr. Director Oncology Insights and Data Analytics. Kelly has been recognized for her ability to effectively lead diverse global teams, launch new products, deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges, drive change, and consistently exceed business results.

Kelly received her BS in Chemical Engineering at Michigan State becoming a first-generation college graduate in her family. She also earned her MBA from Indiana University followed by the recent certification from the Harvard Business Analytics program in September 2020.

Kelly has received several awards including the Center for Leadership Development, Achievement in Business and Industry award and the Mayor of Indianapolis Champion of Diversity award.

Outside of Lilly, Kelly serves as a board member for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Indiana as well as a former board member and long-term supporter of Easter Seals Crossroads. Kelly is married to Arvie Anderson, and they have two sons, Brenton and Bryce.
