Kelly Ortberg is Chief Executive Officer of Collins Aerospace, a United Technologies Company, which was created in 2018 by bringing together UTC Aerospace Systems and Rockwell Collins. Collins Aerospace is a global leader in aviation and defense markets, with $23 billion* in net sales and 70,000 employees around the world. 

Prior to his current position, Kelly served as chairman, president and CEO of Rockwell Collins, where he began his career as a program manager more than 30 years ago. He also previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company's Government Systems business (2010-2012) and chief operating officer of its Commercial Systems business (2006-2010). 

He led Rockwell Collins through the two largest acquisitions in the company's history with the purchase of ARINC in 2013 and B/E Aerospace in 2017. Kelly also played a key role in a string of high-profile program wins across the aerospace and defense industry, and led the company to a place on the Fortune 500 list. Under his leadership, Rockwell Collins also received a number of high-profile awards, including being named one of the World's Most Ethical Companies® by the Ethisphere Institute and the Forbes designation of one of America's Best Large Employers. In addition, he was named a Highest Rated CEO by Glassdoor in 2017. 

Kelly is co-chairman of the board of directors of FIRST® and serves on the University of Iowa Engineering Advisory Board. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Aerospace Industries Association. A native of Dubuque, Iowa, Kelly received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa.
