Chairman, EU Health and Safety Council
The Conference Board
Ken Wood is the current Chairman of the EU Health and Safety Council. Prior to this he was the Global Director for Health and Safety and Business Continuity for the Ardagh Group. This a role he held for 12 years. Before this, he held the same position for 8 years with Impress (later to become Trivium). Adding 8 years of various production and project management roles within both Impress and Crown Cork and Seal reflects a 26-year career in the manufacturing packaging industry. This is on the back of a 16-year career in the Petro-Chemical industry in primarily facility commissioning and start-up in the North Sea, Saudi Arabia (Aramco) and in Thailand with PTT.
Underpinning this experience Ken has completed an Industrial Apprenticeship and engineering degree in Process Control engineering (with ICI), an MBA (Warwick University), and a Masters in Risk Management (through the Institute of Risk Management). Furthermore, he has attained Chartered status as well as completing a number of vocational qualifications in Health and Safety as well as Business Continuity Management (Business Continuity Institute and Disaster Recover Institute International).
Ken is now delighted to facilitate executives in similar roles to better develop their peer networks. A network where members can both develop personally and also improve their organizations’ health and safety through benchmarking of systems. That is the many varied approaches to the way organizations keep their employees and company officers safe.
