Kent has worked internationally in a variety of executive, operations, technology and business renewal roles in the energy, engineering and consulting industries. He is recognized internationally as a thought leader in Knowledge & Change Management, and was one of the first leaders in the world to hold the role of Chief Knowledge Officer in both the public (British Petroleum) and private sectors (SAIC). Kent started his own global consulting practice in 2006, and at the same time became the Program Director for The Conference Board’s Knowledge & Collaboration Council.
He started The Conference Board Change & Transformation Council in 2011, and currently leads both Councils. Kent was also recently awarded the honorary title of Senior Fellow in the Human Capital Center. Kent’s insights and experiences have been documented in many magazines and books, and he has appeared on the Bloomberg Financial Network and several other television programs. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Knowledge Management and is a part-time instructor at the U.S. Army War College.
Kent holds a B.S. Degree in Geology from Kent State University, a M.S Degree in Geophysics from University of Arizona and completed the Executive Program, J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. Kent is also part of the faculty at California State University of Northridge, where he is collaborating on the renewal and delivery of their KM Master’s Degree Program with classes scheduled to start in 2020.
