Laura I. Paredes is Senior Director, Corporate Communications for United States Steel Corporation.

In this role, Laura leads external communications and media relations, financial communications, corporate reputation, and executive communications.

Before joining U. S. Steel in 2021, Laura spent time at the corporate levels of WPP, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and GE, partnering across businesses and functions to drive communications campaigns on key priorities and brand reputation issues.

Laura spent nearly a decade in Public and Government Affairs at ExxonMobil where she was a strategic advisor to businesses undergoing significant transformation, including the fuels marketing and natural gas businesses.

She is on the Board of Trustees at Hope College in Western Michigan and a Board Member at Jill’s House in Northern Virginia. She earned a bachelor’s degree in History at the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. She is married to Troy A. Paredes and resides in Greenwich, CT.
