Lisa Shah, MD is Chief Medical Officer and Head of Marketing for Twin Health. She also serves as President of Twin Medical Group. At Twin Health, Dr. Shah is responsible for US clinical operations, member operations and experience, clinical outcomes, US based clinical research, marketing and communication, and innovation to reverse chronic metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, and obesity. She has years of hands-on experience in healthcare and innovation, from designing value-based care models to leading the implementation of new care delivery models in the practice, hospital, and health plan setting.

Dr. Shah graduated from Duke University with a BA in English and completed medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. At the University of Chicago, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics followed by a post-residency health services research fellowship during which time she held a fully funded research grant for clinical translational research in tobacco cessation and behavioral interventions. She also completed a Master's degree in Public Policy at the University of Chicago.

Prior to joining Twin, Dr. Shah served as Chief Medical Officer for Advantia Health where she led consolidation of women’s healthcare practices to take risk in bundled payment models for optimization of outcomes and cost. Prior to Advantia, Dr. Shah served as Chief Innovation Officer for Sound Physicians where she designed, launched, and operationalized a national telemedicine platform for virtual hospitalist-based and post-acute care. Prior to Sound Physicians, Dr. Shah spent 5 years at Evolent Health where she served as SVP of Clinical Operations and Network and led value-based care initiatives focused on improving care and cost for provider-sponsored health plan risk bearing partners across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid populations.

Dr. Shah is a member of Women of Impact in Healthcare and has received multiple awards from the Washington Business Journal, including the annual C-Suite award. She has published several papers on diabetes reversal and the effectiveness of the Whole Body Digital Twin intervention. She lives in Bethesda, MD with her partner and three children. Dr. Shah continues to practice medicine at Twin Health, managing members in their journey to metabolic disease reversal, prevention, and improvement.
