Lorne has over 20 years' experience working with multinational corporations in China and around the Asia Pacific and South Asia as an auditor, project manager, environmental and management consultant. He provided auditing (including supply chain audits) and assurance services for clients in the UK that range from GHG emission verification to waste recycling and biofuel within the biofuel industry. The aim was to ensure compliance with the Renewable Energy Directive (RED) and Fuel Quality Directive (FQD) and included the audit of traders and producers providing cargoes for RTFO compliance.

Lorne has presented topics ranging from commercial negotiation in China to strategic management, and has a broad and deep understanding of the challenges face by organisations. Besides providing solutions to corporate and environmental sustainability issues, Lorne has designed, developed and delivered numerous capacity-and-capability building workshops for his clients.  He has worked with the Chinese Academy of Governance to help integrate sustainability into policy making and Belt and Road initiatives (BRI). Other collaboration efforts include programmes sponsored by the UK FCO and Shanghai Information Centre for the management of 3rd Party Verification Bodies in the Shanghai Emissions Trading Scheme pilot program under the ISO14064 standard.

Lorne has his BA from University of British Columbia, Canada, and a Masters in Environmental Management (MEM) through the Institute of Environmental Studies (IES) at the University of New South Wales, Australia. He holds Practitioner status at the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) in the UK and is a Changemaker with Future-Fit Business, an organisation dedicated to helping businesses achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by clearly identifying the extra-financial break-even point every business must eventually reach to ensure it protects people and the planet.
