Malika is a high school senior and participant of Girls Inc. of New York City, the longest-running girls leadership organization inspiring girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

She’s an active member of her school community as a member of her local chess, and novelist club, while engaging with the basketball and track teams.

Recently, Malika submitted an innovative project aimed at parents, encouraging them to support their children in reaching out to peers outside their usual social circles. Additionally, she is a dedicated member of the Girls Inc. Teen Leadership Circles, where she helps bring critical programming on issues affecting girls to her local school community.

Malika attributes her growth and success to the support and mentorship she has received from Girls Inc. She reflects, “At Girls Inc., I felt supported, I felt like my peers and educators were proud of me. I finally felt like I was thriving and could make a difference within myself
and my community.”

Through her involvement with Girls Inc., Malika has developed into a confident leader, committed to making a positive impact on her community and beyond.
