Mark Leiter is a Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development and a Distinguished Strategy Fellow at The Conference Board. He serves as Chairman of Leiter + Company, a strategy consulting and capital investment firm.
Helping global business-to-business (B2B) corporations create strategies to improve their performance is Mark’s specialty and passion. Board Chairs, CEOs and executives at over 150 organizations—including 40 of the Fortune 500 corporations—have collaborated with him over the past three decades to create corporate, growth and technology/digital strategies to shape their future and improve performance. His pragmatic approach to strategy design reflects diversified experience serving in operating executive, advisor/consultant, board member and private capital investor roles.
Recent operating experience includes serving as Boeing’s (NYSE:BA) Chief Digital Strategy Officer and Global Leader of the Corporate Strategy organization, following a decade working with Nielsen (NYSE: NLSN) in multiple division President roles before being appointed the company’s Chief Strategy Officer. Earlier operating roles include serving as Chief Marketing Officer at both Viant and Capgemini, preceded by co-founding McKinsey’s Branding and B2B Marketing practices. With respect to his advisory and consulting activities, Mark has advised clients while at Bain, McKinsey, Capgemini, Nielsen and through his own firm, Leiter + Company.
Mark is the author of Crafting Strategy in an Accelerating World: Practical Advice from Chief Strategy Officers Operating in Global, Public Corporations. His views have been shared across media, including Bloomberg, Business Strategy Review, Consulting Magazine, Knowledge at Wharton, and The McKinsey Quarterly. Mark was a research fellow at Harvard Business School, holds an MA from Harvard University and a BA, summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany.
