Martha is Managing Director and Global Head of Global Banking & Markets Human Resources at Scotiabank. In this role, Martha is accountable for the design and execution of the GBM people strategy globally to drive superior business outcomes. Martha is also responsible for the Human Resources function in the U.S. region, which she has led since joining Scotiabank in September 2020. Her leadership has resulted in a strategy that is aligned to the aggressive growth agenda in the region through a  client-centric and people-focused approach. Prior to joining Scotia, Martha held a number of senior leadership roles in Human Resources and Leadership Development at Raymond James, Bank of America/Merrill and Nortel Networks. Martha earned her Master of Science degree in Human Resource Development from Villanova University and has a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Sociology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She is SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certified. Martha is on the Board of Directors of Camp Boggy Creek, a Paul Newman Foundation camp for seriously-ill children.
