Martin Smit is the Head Strategy & Digital, Total Rewards within Takeda, a global pharmaceutical company.  He has more than 23 years HR experience in European, Asian and American companies, across different industries and has led total rewards activities supporting global mergers and acquisitions and integrations, spin offs, new market entries, globalisation, restructuring and HR transformation initiatives. 

Martin holds an MSc in International Business Studies from Maastricht University, is a Certified Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) from the World at Work and earned an MIT Sloan Executive certification in the Implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Business Strategy. Being a passionate programmer since the 1980s and an AI enthusiast since 2017, he regularly develops applications himself as well as shares his insights with the broader HR and Total Rewards community.
