Dr. Cheers assumed responsibility for United States Steel Health Services as the Corporate Medical Director in March of 2020 at the beginning of the global COVID-19 pandemic. 

Prior to being named General Manager for Health Services, she served as faculty and the Director of Health Services for Ross University School of Medicine. 

Dr. Cheers is an Emergency Physician by training.  She worked as an Associate Physician in the Brigham and Women’s Hospital system as well as an Attending Physician for the Allegheny Health Network.

She studied anthropology and biology at Mount Holyoke College and completed post-baccalaureate studies at Carnegie Mellon University.  Dr. Cheers attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis.  She also attained her Master’s in Public Health from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Cheers has earned the prestigious mark of distinction as a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. She was also inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
