Dr. Sharp is Vice President, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at Purdue Pharma, where she oversees communications strategy and social impact initiatives. She has a proven track record of setting strategic direction and managing internal and external communications amid complexity and change.

Prior to joining Purdue, Dr. Sharp worked at the Connecticut Hospital Association, where, as Vice President of Membership and Communications, she was responsible for communications and advocacy for the Association and its 27 members. Earlier in her career, Dr. Sharp drove global communications for the American Association for Cancer Research, an international cancer research organization with 33,000 members in 90 countries. She launched proactive media relations efforts for high profile clients in healthcare, hospitals, think tanks, and foundations at The Karma Agency.

Dr. Sharp began her career in journalism, working at U.S. News & World Report, CNN, and local TV stations in NC and MD. Her work at WBAL-TV in Baltimore earned her a Peabody award for an investigative news story about Chesapeake Bay pollution, resulting in government employee resignations, a hold on housing development, and an EPA investigation.

Dr. Sharp holds an Ed.D. in Learning and Organizational Transformation from Baylor University, a M.A. in International Public Affairs and Journalism from The American University, and a bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College. She serves as Board Chair of the Jefferson University College of Population Health Alumni Board, where she earned a graduate certificate in Health Policy. She also serves as an advisory board member of Move to Heal, a recovery organization.
