Mike has worked in the service of the State of Rhode Island since graduating from law school in 2009 and has been closely involved with benefits practice throughout that time. Mike currently oversees operations in the State’s Office of Employee Benefits. In this role, he manages a small team of six that administers all voluntary benefits for approximately 15,000 active State of Rhode Island employees and health benefits for qualifying retired employees. A big believer in customer service and benefits education, Mike is involved in all aspects of benefits communications strategy. He has spearheaded multiple communications-related initiatives including development of the State’s virtual benefits fair and primary office websites, as well as a new employee benefits guide brochure and an annual benefits guide booklet for ongoing employees. When not working, Mike enjoys biking, playing basketball, and spending time at the beach with his wife and two young children.
