Monica Ward joined United seven years ago to lead United’s Health and Wellness Operations and Communications team. Since joining United, Monica has driven new standard guiding principles of vendor and union operations, customer experience, navigation services, clinical integration, engagement both at the employee and union leadership level, and the evolution of wellness. More recently, she has been asked to lead United’s health equity efforts, something very dear to her heart, as she now serves as Sr. Manager, Wellness and Health Equity for the company. Monica’s team is committed to telling United’s health equity story across the organization and designing innovative health delivery experiences that reduce barriers to care. In 2022, Monica led the charge to launch United’s first Benefits Equity Council as part of United’s commitment to DEI.

Prior to working at United, Monica spent many years in the benefits field working for familiar large organizations, like Kraft Foods and McDonald’s Corporation. Monica has extensive experience harmonizing and restructuring benefit programs and offerings, change management, and working across the system for organizational engagement. She has worked in other organizations with a large union presence before joining United.
