Rick Mayes is the Managing Director of Health and Wellness and has responsibility for the management of United’s health and wellness plans covering approximately 120,000 active and retired participants. His team manages a broad scope of employee benefits across the U.S, Guam and international hubs. In addition to the more traditional medical, dental, and vision plans, United’s programs include unique benefits negotiated with various labor groups and corporate discounts. His team also has responsibility for United’s benefit analytics and finance teams.

Prior to joining United, Rick held several leadership roles focused on the implementation of HR technology and ongoing operations in the areas of benefits, HRIS, payroll, and talent management. His background also includes actuarial consulting, advertising, and HR consulting.

Rick has a B.S. in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois and a masters from DePaul University. He received his SPHR certification in 2004.
