Sandra (Sandi) E. Peterson is Group Worldwide Chairman for Johnson & Johnson, the world’s largest healthcare company.  She oversees the company’s global operating infrastructure, multiple consumer-facing businesses, and key initiatives designed to accelerate innovation and growth. In 2016, Sandi’s teams completed eight acquisitions and forged dozens of technology partnerships.  This year, Sandi also assumed responsibility for Johnson & Johnson’s global Hospital Medical Device businesses.  

Sandi is responsible for the Supply Chain, Quality, Information Technology, Global Services and Design across the enterprise.  She is co-leading the creation of the company’s new operating model, which will save over $1 billion by standardizing Information Technology, Finance, Human Resources and Procurement processes.  Sandi is at the forefront of Johnson & Johnson’s efforts to transform healthcare using technology and design-thinking to leverage its unique assets to create breakthrough solutions.  This includes holistic wellness, behavioral health, and chronic disease management solutions developed by Johnson & Johnson Health and Wellness to improve health and financial outcomes.  

Sandi is responsible for the Johnson & Johnson Consumer Family of Companies, and its Consumer Medical Device businesses -- Johnson & Johnson Vision Care and the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Care Companies.  These businesses generate approximately $18 billion in revenue and include iconic brands such as Johnson’s Baby, Neutrogena, LISTERINE, TYLENOL, AVEENO, BAND-AID, ACUVUE, SYMPONY, and ONETOUCH.  

 As leader of Johnson & Johnson’s global Hospital Medical Device segment, Sandi is responsible for the company’s surgical, orthopaedics and cardiovascular businesses, which generate more than $20B in revenue, and include brands such as DePuy Synthes, Biosense Webster and Ethicon.

Before joining Johnson & Johnson, Sandi was Chairman & CEO of Bayer CropScience AG in Germany.  Before that, when she was CEO of Bayer Medical Care, she served on the AdvaMed Board of Directors.  Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at Medco Health Solutions (previously known as Merck-Medco), Nabisco, Whirlpool Corporation and McKinsey and Company, Inc. 

Sandi holds a B.A. from Cornell University and an M.P.A. from Princeton University.  She is a member of the board of directors of Microsoft, and was formerly on the board of directors of The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation where she chaired the Innovation & Technology Committee.  Sandi was a founding member of Women Corporate Directors.  She is a member of Women’s Forum and C200.  She serves on the Rutberg & Company Wireless Influencers Board of Advisors, and the International Advisory Board of the Center for the Advanced Study of India, University of Pennsylvania.  Sandi is a member of the Board of Trustees, Institute for Advanced Study, one of the world’s leading centers for theoretical research and intellectual inquiry.  She was also Chairman of the Board of EcoHealth Alliance.  Sandi has been named to Fortune magazine’s list of The Most Powerful Women multiple times.
