Since joining e.l.f. as Chairman and CEO in 2014, Tarang took the company public (NYSE:ELF) in 2016 in one of the most successful beauty IPOs and has grown shareholder equity from $135 million to over $8 billion. Under his leadership, the business has strategically expanded into a multi-brand portfolio that includes e.l.f. Cosmetics, e.l.f. SKIN, Well People, Keys Soulcare and Naturium. e.l.f. is known for its superpowers of delivering premium quality cosmetics and skincare at an extraordinary value with broad appeal, that are e.l.f. clean, vegan, cruelty free and Fair Trade Certified™.

Previously, Tarang served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Schiff Nutrition where he grew enterprise value from $190 million to $1.5 billion with leading brands such as Airborne and MegaRed. Prior to Schiff, Tarang served as Vice President, General Manager of The Clorox Company’s $1.7 billion Litter, Food and Charcoal businesses. He also created the company’s Health & Wellness platform, doubling the size of the Clorox franchise from $750 million to $1.5 billion. He began his career at Procter & Gamble where he held various management positions, helping take Pantene from a $50 million brand to an over $2 billion global market leader and expanding share leadership for the $1.7 billion Bounty business.  

Tarang earned both his bachelor’s degree in International Policy and his Master of Business Administration from Duke University. He is an Advisory Board Member of the Coach K Center on Leadership & Ethics at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and serves on the Boards of Pharmavite, with Nature Made, the leading nutritional supplements brand in the U.S., and J. M. Smucker. Tarang is a member of The Conference Board’s Committee for Economic Development and of The Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council. He previously served as Chair of the Alameda County Community Food Bank and actively supports causes in education, conservation and social impact.
