Tim Mathews, DSc and MBA, is Program Director of the Business Continuity & Crisis Management Council of The Conference Board and Executive Director, Enterprise Resiliency, ETS. Tim has led ETS through its Resilience journey culminating in certification to the ISO 22301:2012 Business Continuity standard and conformity to the Department of Homeland Security’s Private Sector Preparedness Program - PS-Prep. In 2015, under his leadership, the department was honored with the prestigious North American and Global “Continuity and Resilience Team of the Year” awards by the Business Continuity Institute for its resilience during Super Storm Sandy.
Prior to his tenure at ETS, Tim was a management consultant specializing in effective enterprise resiliency. Tim has extensive leadership experience in the areas of business continuity/it disaster recovery, security operations, strategic outsourcing, venture capital, it service strategies and software development.
Tim holds a Doctor of Science in Civil Security Leadership, Management and Policy from NJCU, an MBA from Rider University and undergraduate degrees in Banking/Commerce and Computer Science. Tim is also a graduate of the rigorous ISMA/Georgetown Security Leadership.
As an adjunct professor, Tim has taught business strategy and policy and enterprise resilience in the undergraduate and Master of Homeland Security programs at Rider University. He is a member of the Continuity Insights Editorial Advisory Board, the International Security Management Association, the Business Continuity Institute, the Association of Contingency Planners, ASIS International, and is a founding member of the New Jersey Enterprise Resiliency Roundtable.
