Tom Michaud has spent his entire 30 year career with Keefe, Bruyette & Woods (KBW). He was named President and Chief Executive Officer of KBW in October 2011, having previously served as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer.

Under Mr. Michaud’s leadership, KBW has become one of the leading investment banks to the financial services industry both in the United States and Europe. The company is regularly recognized for its leadership in the areas of equity research, mergers & acquisitions, capital raising and equity trading. Mr. Michaud maintains strong personal relationships with top industry executives and has been instrumental in executing many of KBW’s largest transactions.

When KBW lost 67 of its 224 employees in the World Trade Center attacks on 9/11, Mr. Michaud helped lead the efforts in rebuilding the firm. He and his partners established the KBW Family Fund and made it their mission to support the KBW families after their devastating loss.

Throughout his career at KBW, Mr. Michaud has dedicated himself to analyzing the financial services industry, serving his clients and building a successful business for his employees and shareholders. He began his career at KBW as a credit and equity analyst and has served in a senior management role since 1998. During Mr. Michaud’s tenure, KBW expanded its global presence to London and Hong Kong, and in 2013, he led the firm’s merger into Stifel Financial. KBW is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stifel Financial, where Mr. Michaud serves as Senior Vice President.

Mr. Michaud frequently appears on national business television outlets and his opinion was often sought after by Members of Congress and the Administration during the global financial crisis. He is a graduate of Middlebury College and earned an M.B.A from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He currently serves on the Board of the Foreign Policy Association of New York. His past board memberships include the Greenwich, Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Greenwich Representative Town Meeting and the Middlebury College Capital Campaign Committee. He and his wife live in Greenwich and are the proud parents of three children.
