Trina Lee, Assistance Vice President, Communications and Community Affairs, CarMax Trina Lee is an accomplished leader with over 20 years of experience in communications, public affairs, and community relations. Her expertise lies in increasing brand affinity, executive communications, and reputation management. Currently serving as the Assistant Vice President of Communications & Community Affairs at CarMax, Trina is responsible for internal communications, community relations, and employee events. Trina’s journey began with CarMax in 2005 where she established and grew the company’s award-winning public relations team. She now serves on CarMax’s Corporate Social Responsibility team helping to elevate the company’s remarkable 30-year brand story with employees and other key stakeholders. CarMax is the nation’s largest retailer of used vehicles and has been recognized as one of the FORTUNE “100 Best Companies to Work For” for nineteen consecutive years.

Before joining CarMax, Trina served as the head of communications for the Virginia Department of Health, where she handled various aspects of public relations and crisis communications, including bioterrorism and public health crisis planning. Trina began her career gaining extensive journalism experience as a television newscast producer in multiple media markets, including Richmond, Virginia, Dallas, Texas, and Washington D.C. In addition to her professional commitments, Trina is actively involved in the community. She currently serves as a Board Member for the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and has served on several nonprofit boards including Leadership Metro Richmond and the School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community over the past 20 years. Trina has an M.B.A. from East Carolina University and a B.S. from Virginia Commonwealth University in Mass Communications, with a concentration in Radio and Television Broadcasting and a minor in Political Science.
