Henry D. Wolfe is a private investor who has been an active catalyst for the creation of substantial value for shareholders in a variety of industry situations, both public and private. Industries he has served include ice manufacturing and distribution, veterinary pharmaceutical distribution, petroleum distribution, refrigerated warehousing and retail sporting goods.

In the nonprofit sector, Wolfe has served as chairman of the board of the Florence, N.C., Regional YMCA and Florence County Crime Stoppers Program; chairman of the Pacesetters Division for the United Way; and board member at Gateway Foundation, one of the nation’s largest substance abuse treatment providers. At Gateway, he led a dramatic restructuring of the board and governance focuses and subsequently served a two-year term as the organization’s non-executive chairman.

His writings and commentary on corporate governance topics have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Directors and Boards, Board Room INSIDER, Institutional Investor’s Journal of Private Equity and The Financial Times. A graduate of Clemson University, where he was a member of the Clemson rugby team and served as its captain, Wolfe has been a frequent guest lecturer at Harvard University and is a Visiting Professor at York University in Toronto.
