Michael J. Albano

Michael J. Albano is a partner in the executive compensation and benefits matters practice at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. He joined the firm in 2001, becoming partner in 2010.

He advises clients on disclosure, governance, taxation, design and negotiation of executive compensation agreements and arrangements, as well as the executive compensation and benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions; pension investment and ERISA fiduciary matters.

Albano is ranked by Chambers USA and Legal 500 U.S. for employee benefits and executive compensation.

He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he earned his J.D. in 2001. He graduated magna cum laude from Duke University, where he earned his BA in 1998.
