Mindful Moment and Movement
Participants are invited to take part in a mindful moment and movement session. Centering and breathing exercises will be facilitated to support participants to become still and focused, followed by gentle office yoga. You will learn practices that you can bring back and use in your work environment.

Chronic Pain Management: Coaching Approaches for Improved Resilience
The neuroscience of pain is an innovative field of research and practice which is showing that a biopsychosocial approach is imperative for improved health and well-being outcomes. Chronic pain often leads to mental health issues and risks for opioid addiction. Mental health disability is expected to significantly increase over the next decade. How can chronic pain management coaching and training support individuals to learn and sustain resilience behaviors and improve health and well-being outcomes? In this session you will learn about emerging research and practical coaching approaches to management of chronic pain and management of downstream risks for individuals and organizations, and you will practice assessment and planning techniques for your organization.

Overload: Being Mindful and Staying Focused in a Digital VUCA World
Resilience in a digitally based VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world is difficult and requires new ways of looking at culture and respect. Culture is being delivered by tools and technologies that create demands, often overloading teammates. In this two-part session, you will learn how ‘overload’ causes risks to attention and decision-making, and you will explore models of respect and how respect should function for optimal resilience and performance in an overloaded work environment.

Overload Practice: Activate Your Learnings
In this session, participants will practice the concepts of attention management. This experiential learning session will support you in practicing attention to overload, taking a mindfulness approach of decision-making and saying ‘no’ when appropriate. Take -away these new skills and a plan for next steps to integrate these practices in your work environment.

Facilitated Discussion of Lessons Learned and Expectations
This session will give you the opportunity to share and discuss some of the lessons learned from the morning’s sessions and set expectations for learning from the remaining seminar sessions.

Leading Resilience: Improved Well-being and Business Performance
There is a growing recognition of the importance of a leader’s emotional resonance with others. Current business research has shown the significant impact of management on improved team performance, far above the outcomes of traditional wellness programs. What does resilience and agility research tell us about how to approach leadership of teams and business units? How is new knowledge in this area being leveraged to help individuals and teams face rapid change, adversity, and setbacks, in order to ultimately improve their well-being and business outcomes? In this session, you will learn, model and discuss approaches to apply resilience training to leadership development initiatives.

Network Walk or ‘Netwalking’
Participants will practice a networking walk that models a walking meeting and allows conference participants to get some fresh air, network with other participants, and come back to the afternoon sessions refreshed and ready to learn.

Activating a Culture of Resilience: Simple Tips and Practices
Resilience is a leadership competency, communication skill, and a workplace cultural norm that improves profitability and effectiveness and leads to long-term sustainability. It’s not rocket science, but it does require a commitment, buy-in, and consistent practice with yourself and employees to build over time. In this session highly interactive session, you will learn the essentials of activating a culture of resilience in your organization. Participants will learn why mindful leadership is essential for creating a resilient organization and tips for practicing it in the workplace, key practices for becoming a mindful communicator with your teams, how rituals can activate a culture of resilience in a workplace and create one for your team or organization.
General Session H: 4:30 – 5:00 PM
Facilitated Discussion of Major Lessons Learned
This closing session will give you the opportunity to share and discuss some of the key lessons learned during the day and reflect on how to convert these into positive action in your work environment.
