The US labor market continues to outperform expectations despite fears of a possible upcoming recession. Wages are growing above historic norms and companies are still reporting hiring difficulties. Join this Experts Live to better understand the supply side of the labor markets. Senior Economist, Selcuk Eren, PhD and Associate Economist, Will Baltrus, will present how changing demographics are impacting US labor supply and discuss their research on labor force dynamics and labor market transitions and discuss implications for future labor shortages. In addition, our economists will discuss the labor markets outlook for the rest of 2023 and 2024.

We will discuss:

  • How has US labor force participation evolved over time?
  • What are the demographic changes that impacted the labor markets?
  • What are the implications of changing labor market dynamics?
  • What is the outlook for labor markets in the US for the rest of 2023 and 2024?
