The Future of Enterprise IT for MNCs in China

November 22, 2021 | Report

China’s Internet and data environment continue to bi-furcate from the West as regulations on corporate data operations tighten on the back of new laws and regulations, most recently the Data Security Law (DSL) and the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL). These laws went into effect on September 1 and November 1, respectively.

These new laws portend substantially reduced, and more highly controlled cross-border data flows, and much stronger enforcement from Chinese authorities over corporate data operations in the future.

In this Deep Dive Exchange meeting, China Center members shared observations, perspectives, and practices on the evolving demands on EIT in China and considered scenarios looking forward.
