Quote H5 However, the federal mandate is not without some negative repercussions for the labor market and the thousands of businesses that help drive economic activity. For select firms, the federal vaccine mandate might potentially slow hiring, exacerbate labor shortages, stoke wage inflation, and accelerate automation.

Moreover, when it comes to messaging the new rule to employees, the impending regulation will have disparate distributional effects on workers depending upon characteristics such as industry, occupation, age, race, gender, full- or part-time status, marital or parental status, and region. To find the talent you need and incorporate all types of diversity, widen your list of accepted credentials. Alternative credentials open the door for organizations to consider a wider, more diverse range of candidates and for employees to consider roles that were previously unavailable to them. In many organizations, this shift requires acknowledgment of the importance of diversity, cultural acceptance of alternative credentials, and a changed TA mindset.
