Silicon Valley is facing a disinformation problem that is poisoning the infosphere, creating filter bubbles and echo chambers, feeding polarization and entrenchment, and resulting in the misuse of data to shape political debates through military-grade psychological operations, manipulation, and propaganda. All the above are symptoms of disinformation and we need to get to the root causes if we want to cure them.
