Against the backdrop of the Infosys Limited whistleblower episode in 2019, it has become imperative to focus on India’s regulatory regime for anonymous corporate whistleblowing. Undoubtedly, corporate whistleblowing needs to be encouraged. However, it is necessary to examine certain aspects of its process to disincentivize its misuse with mala fide intent, specifically under the protection of identity that it offers. In this context, the possibility of abuse of the process of anonymous whistleblowing merits a discussion.
