-
Publication Date:
February 19, 2020
Consumer Confidence Started Buoyantly for Most of Asia Leading into 2020; but Coronavirus Impacts Could Capsize this in the Near-Term. The Conference Board® Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) for Asia-Pacific fell 1 point to 116 during the final quarter of 2019, after previously recording four consecutive quarterly readings of 117. Consumer confidence across Asia-Pacific remains generally optimistic. But a large number of markets covered (6 of 14) — including Japan, Hong Kong, and China — show some weakening optimism.
