U.S. Top Executive Compensation Report: 2012 Edition

Given the recent dramatic events in the U.S. financial markets, CEO compensation is bound to be more closely scrutinized than ever. Some argue that this scrutiny may have also changed the way executives are paid. To provide a solid base of information on this issue, this report examines salary, total cash compensation, total compensation, and the mix of compensation elements for the CEO and the five highest paid executives of 2,411 publicly traded companies in the United States in 2011. The findings are organized by both revenue and industry groups.
