There is underlying domestic strength to overcome the stronger dollar and broad global slowdown. Consumers should lead the charge, following strong job gains, some rise in wages, rising confidence, and lower gasoline prices. Despite solid consumption, non-energy investment spending is to remain cautious, as corporate profits come under cost pressures.
