Using Technology to Strengthen Employee & Family Involvement in Education

The future success of the United States depends on the ability of today’s students to meet national demands for high-tech workers, educated consumers, and responsible citizens. Preparing students for a high-tech future is a monumental challenge that no one stakeholder (employer/employee, families, schools, students, and the community at large) can overcome alone. This report, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, examines how the business community can and must help to meet these challenges as well as what roles it can play in this effort. Also examined is how technology tools can be used to support and guide the process of strengthening employer and family involvement in education. A dozen case studies reveal how today’s corporations are contributing to the future through involvement in education. (44 pages)
