For the seventh year in a row, overall job satisfaction has improved. Job satisfaction is improving faster for workers from lower-income households than for those making $75,000 or above. This follows the pattern of recent years, in which the tightening of the labor market and the threat of labor shortages have been more acute and more visible in blue-collar and low-paid services occupations than in white-collar occupations. Furthermore, while workers in lower-paid jobs have traditionally experienced less job satisfaction than higher-paid workers, that gap is now closing.
