While some June data beat expectations, the growth outlook for 2H 2019 remains gloomy. Chinese export growth continues to deteriorate, due to weaker global demand and elevated US tariffs. The fundamental drivers of consumption growth—job creation and income growthare both expected to continue declining in the 2H. Despite these growing headwinds, government stimulus measures have been relatively measured thus far.
