Nandan M. Nilekani, CEO, President, Managing Director, and Co-Founder. Infosys Technologies, Ltd., Bangalore, India believes there are natural limits to offshoring and outsourcing. While manufacturing and back office services will be done where it makes the most sense, sales and marketing, branding, innovation, and design can never be far from the customer. According to Nilekani, the era of the celebrity CEO, and of excessive executive compensation, is over. “We have to make sure that nobody is indispensable,” he says.
