CED’s Task Force on Renewing Cities: NYC as a Model utilizes the extensive expertise of its Trustees to provide solutions – CED’s signature value-add throughout its history – on how NYC, the early epicenter of the virus’ impact and the nation’s largest metropolitan economy, can best overcome the important challenges the pandemic has unleashed. Using the lens of New York City – the area of the country hit hardest by the pandemic early in the crisis – this effort will also provide original analysis and potentially wide-reaching solutions on how to overcome the challenges confronting US cities emerging from the pandemic.
This Solutions Brief provides insights on New York City's economy and the trends that the pandemic has accelerated or altered.
