Kimo Kippen is the program director for the Talent and Organization Development Executives Council and a Senior Fellow for the Human Capital Center at The Conference Board. An advocate for life-long learning and talent development, he is the former chief learning officer and vice president of Global Workforce Initiatives at Hilton, where he was responsible for creating life-long learning solutions for Hilton's hundreds of thousands of employees worldwide. Prior to Hilton, Kimo worked at Marriott International for 21 years. In his last position there, he was responsible for the Center of Excellence for Learning. He also served as vice president of human resources for Renaissance Hotels and Resorts, North America.
In 2015, CLO Magazine recognized Kippen’s accomplishments in learning by naming him Chief Learning Officer of the Year for 2015. Kippen has served as chairman of the board for the Association for Talent Development (formerly the American Society for Training & Development) and is currently a board member of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) and the Defense Acquisition University (DAU).
Kippen’s passion for learning has drawn him into the academic world as an adjunct professor at The Catholic University of America. Kippen holds an MS in career and human resource development from Rochester Institute of Technology and a BS from the University of Hawaii. He is a graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland's Post Graduate Program.
