Joe Kaplan has over 20 years of Human Resources, Organizational Effectiveness, Change Management, Training, and Leadership Development experience with a track record of improving profit, revenue, quality, and employee engagement by increasing the performanc and tenure of critical talent. As a leader of Deloitte’s Employee Engagement Practice, he oversees the firm’s participation in The Engagement Institute™, a consortium of organizations committed to furthering research and thinking about engagement issues. He also counsels organizations to shape their employee engagement strategies to effectively attract, retain, and continuously increase the discretionary effort of employees in order to facilitate effective strategic execution.

Joe has a BS and MA in Applied Social (Organizational) Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. Prior to joining Deloitte, he worked at consulting firms such as Accenture, Gallup, and Novations where he served in a variety of service delivery and leadership positions to help clients continuously improve the performance of their people, manage business/process transformations, and engage their employees and customers. Joe has consulted across a number of industries and has had the opportunity to advise executives and leaders on employee engagement and related talent management issues at companies such as Abbott Laboratories, Advocate Health, BCBS-MI, BP, Boeing, Chevron, Chiron, Exelon, Fireman’s Fund Insurance, First Citizens Bank, First Data, Genentech, Harris Bank, HP, Henry Ford Health System, LaSalle Bank, Marriott, Nicor Gas, Northern Trust Bank, Old Castle, Proctor & Gamble, Sears Holdings, State Farm, TAP Pharmaceuticals, TIAA-CREF, T-Mobile, Tyson Foods, the Veteran’s Health Administration, Wallace Business Forms, We Energies, Wells Fargo, and Xcel Energy.
