Ioannis Siskos is a Senior Research Fellow for the European ESG Center at The Conference Board.
At The Conference Board, Ioannis has been working on topics such as biodiversity loss, climate change mitigation, sustainable business practices, energy policy, climate misinformation, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting. His research focuses on helping businesses navigate the transition to a low-carbon economy by analyzing the implications of policies like the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, exploring the role of carbon offsets in net-zero strategies, and addressing challenges in building climate-resilient supply chains.
Ioannis started his career working as a mechanical engineer focusing on the design and management of energy projects in Greece. He then transitioned to academic research, working as a research associate for INSEAD, France, and later for Kühne Logistics University, Germany. Among other topics, he focused on the environmental benefits of decentralized energy production and industrial symbiosis.
Ioannis holds a diploma in mechanical engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece; an executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, Washington, US; and a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering for Sustainable Development from Mälardalen University in Sweden.
