C-Suite Outlook 2022: Reset and Reimagine (Japan Edition)

April 01, 2022 | Report

Surviving and Thriving in a Uniquely Challenging Business Environment

Our 2022 C-Suite Outlook survey shows that the pandemic will continue to shape a uniquely challenging business and human capital environment in Japan and across the globe. COVID-19 related disruptions, climate change impacts, labor shortages, and changing consumer behaviors are the high-impact events that are top of mind for CEOs in Japan in 2022. However, there are also lingering concerns over recession risk—a stress point now exacerbated globally by the war in Ukraine. More than a quarter of CEOs in Japan list this as a top five impact issue. Compared to their global peers and despite increasing costs for wages and raw inputs, few CEOs in Japan see rising inflation as a threat—it is ranked second globally but only 12th in Japan.
