Beyond Carbon: Why Methane Matters
June 25, 2024 11:00 AM ET - 12:00 PM ET | Virtual Meeting
Although methane accounts for a much smaller share of total greenhouse gas emissions than carbon dioxide does, it’s about 80 times more potent as an atmospheric warming agent. In fact, 30 percent of all global warming since the 1850s is the result of methane. Most of today’s methane emissions come from the agriculture and food sector, oil and gas operations, and waste management. But how can companies benefit from taking steps to eliminate it?
Please join ESF senior economist Alex Heil to discuss the risk of unabated methane emissions, the regulatory environments in both the US, Europe and the rest of the world, and how technology can help companies and regulators to reduce methane emissions.
