Status of Corporate Climate Action in China

While policy and government action are important and necessary, the stewardship of large companies can move the needle, if not lead the way. Corporate commitment-making on climate transition is ramping up globally, but most commitments fall far short of what’s needed. Chinese firms lag global peers on climate commitments, and this is an opportune gap for MNC intervention. In the realm of climate transition, leading firms want the pack to “copy” them and follow suit.
