A lot has happened in the three decades since The Art of Japanese Management appeared. In these days of emerging-market hype, it is useful to remind ourselves of the original emergent-market miracle. So: Thirty years after the first rush of enthusiasm for everything Japanese, what can and should we be learning about how the Japanese do business today? To find out more, the authors spent a week talking to senior executives and others.
