The Conference Board Economics Watch® Emerging Markets View

The balance of global growth is favoring mature economies, which will further help emerging markets to expand exports. Exports helped China to maintain a 7 percent growth rate in the first half of 2017. Political unrest in Brazil and in the Middle East increases uncertainty, but downside risks are likely to be country specific, with limited global impact. The cyclical pickup in the global and emerging economies shows no risks of a widespread slowdown as yet.
