In the second part of a series on the job description of a corporate director, The Conference Board Governance Center reports on a panel discussion of and two separate interviews with sitting directors who sought to define their role in today’s environment. The findings include: directors need to communicate regularly with each other and management about complex issues to be effective, and CEO succession planning is one of the corporate board’s most important jobs.
