Business Transformation and the Circular Economy: DUPONT

DuPont’s performance materials business is home to several examples of these initiatives. Circular economy initiatives in the area of performance polymers, for instance, focus on source and waste reduction, waste recovery, recyclability of existing polymer streams, and reducing dependence on oil (through the development of bio-polymers). And while initiatives focused on reducing waste, reducing cost, and bringing in new revenue have been around for several years—what has changed for DuPont is that the circular economy concept is helping the company think more holistically across the entire value chain.
