Economic Leadership and Global Responsibilities

This issue of StraightTalk steps back from current economic analysis for a historical perspective on what it means to be an economic leader and whether China’s rise will mean the end of the West’s leadership. For now, it appears that a global partnership between developed countries and developing ones is both more likely and more beneficial for overall economic growth, at least for a few decades. But nations with advanced economies already show the symptoms that historians have associated with decline, so there is no reason for complacency.
