This has been the topic of numerous discussions at our three Corporate Citizenship & Philanthropy Councils, and as a result, The Conference Board acted. Earlier this month, The Conference Board and Mission Measurement announced a partnership to collect and analyze data on the social impact of corporations’ charitable contributions across a wide range of social issues—including education, public health, and community development. Read more about this project here. We’ll share insights with you as we embark on this journey.
Many countries and companies put a spotlight on volunteers in April. Our Center on Corporate Citizenship & Philanthropy Advisory Board Member, corporate volunteering expert, and Points of Light’s President of Innovation and Corporate Thought Leadership Jenny Lawson is our guest blogger this month. Her post is titled More and Better: The Growing Corporate Volunteer Movement and is a must-read. One of the sessions at tomorrow’s Corporate Citizenship Council’s Joint Meeting on Disasters will focus on efforts of employee volunteers in preparedness, relief, recovery, and rebuilding. Companies and employees are continuing to innovate new ways of tackling societal needs, and we applaud their hard work and ingenuity.
