Welcome to the Innovation and Productivity Newsletter. You are receiving this based on your past engagement with The Conference Board on these topics.
As we developed our strategic "Signposts of Innovation" project to help corporations get a handle on measuring innovation output as well as competence, we identified (in good innovation practice!) an additional prize – structure.
The executives we interviewed really resonated with the framework we applied to breaking down the complexity of innovation into its six core components of 1) Technology (R&D), 2) Digitization, 3) Environmental and Social Sustainability, 4) Customer Experience and Branding, 5) Internal Innovation Network, and 6) External Innovation Ecosystem.
This way of framing the complex world and workings of innovation helps innovation leaders and business executives alike toward more transparency in wrapping their minds around priorities, more clarity in communication behind one language, and strengthened influencing related to needs and priorities.
